Tag employees by office location

When using Multiple Locations as the shipping preference, employees are tagged with their corresponding office location so Launch can automatically group employee orders by office during fulfillment.

For example, a company with offices in Chicago, New York and Miami would assign employees a corresponding office location tag based on where they work. Once orders are placed, Launch automatically recognizes the employee’s assigned office location and applies the order to the correct office shipment.

This process works similarly to Launch Codes, where employee tags associate specific Launch Codes to the employee. In this case, employee tags are used to associate employees with a specific office shipment location.

Assigning office location tags

Office location tags can be assigned in several ways within Launch.

Admins can assign tags:

  • During employee list imports
  • Individually within the dashboard
  • Through bulk employee edits within Launch

This flexibility allows companies to efficiently organize employees by office location as employee lists grow and change over time.

The "Active Employees" menu item in the left navigation is highlighted with a red outline, indicating where administrators can view and manage active employee records. The page displays an employee table with columns for first name, last name, email address, tags, and edit options, along with an orange "Add Employees" button in the upper-right corner.

A red arrow highlights the "Upload file" button, and a red outline highlights the "Download a sample CSV" link, which provides a template file to help format employee data correctly before uploading. The "Import List" button is disabled until a file is selected, and a "Cancel" button is displayed at the bottom of the window.

A red outline highlights the office location tags, such as "Atlanta" and "Chicago," which are used to group employees for Multiple Locations shipping. Additional tags, including department or employee status labels like "Design," "Sales," and "New Hire," are also shown alongside employee records.

Employee checkout experience

When Multiple Locations is selected as the shipping preference, employees do not enter a shipping address during checkout.

Instead, Launch automatically recognizes the employee’s assigned office location based on their employee tag and routes the order to the correct office shipment automatically.

Employees simply:

  • Add products to cart
  • Apply their Launch Code if required
  • Submit the order

Because the office location is already associated with the employee profile, there is no option for the employee to enter a shipping address during checkout when Multiple Locations is enabled.
